Heewon Jang is an assistant professor in the Department of Educational Leadership, Policy, and Technology Studies at the University of Alabama. Her research focuses on the patterns and consequences of school segregation. She is also interested in how policy levers, including school choice and education finance, can help reduce the adverse impacts of segregation. She uses large-scale, population-based datasets to produce descriptive research that can inform practitioners and policymakers about targeting their interventions.
