Undergraduate Degrees

Many of the College of Education’s bachelor’s degrees focus on teacher education in the various fields of early childhood elementary education, physical education, music education, secondary education, and special education.  Teacher education programs lead to licensure in the state of Alabama.

The College also offers a program in exercise and sport science.  Students in this program plan to enter into fields of exercise physiology, personal training, coaching, athletic coordination, sports nutrition, occupational therapy, or physical therapy.

    • Early Childhood (P-3) and Elementary Education certification (K – 6th grade)
  • Kinesiology
    • Physical Education certification (Pre-K – 12th grade)
    • Kinesiology program with concentration in Exercise Science
  • Music Education
    • Choral certification (Pre-K – 12th grade)
    • Instrumental certification (Pre-K – 12th grade)
  • Secondary Education
    • English Language Arts certification (6 – 12th grade: English, communications, drama, journalism)
    • Foreign Language [French, German, Spanish, or Latin] certification (6 – 12th grade or Pre-K – 12th grade)]
    • Mathematics certification (6 – 12th grade)
    • Social Science certification (6 – 12th grade: history, economics, geography, government)
    • Science certification (6 – 12th grade: general science, biology, chemistry, physics, earth and space)
  • Special Education
    • Collaborative certification (K – 6th grade or K-12th grade)
    • Early Childhood Special Education certification (Pre-K – 3rd grade: special/general education)
    • Multiple Abilities Program certification (Pre-K – 3rd grade: early childhood/special education and K – 6th grade: special education/elementary education)
