Requirements
Students need to meet the following criteria to be considered for the TIB program:
Must be a Junior in high school at the time of application
Complete University of Alabama Early College Application
Complete the Teach in Bama Application, including 3 references and your personal statement.
Must have a 3.0 in all high school and post-secondary work, including all UAEC work.
Student Timeline
- Complete the UAEC application and ask your counselor to submit your high school transcript to UA Early College by Friday, June 7, 2024, at 4:45 p.m. You must be a current junior in high school with a 3.0+ cumulative GPA since the ninth grade.
- Complete the Teach in Bama online application by June 7, 2024, at 4:45 p.m.
- UAEC 200 College Readiness Course Overview is currently scheduled June 20, 2024. Student and Parent participation is required Thursday, June 20 – Online Session. 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
- All students must pass UAEC 200 to be eligible for further courses.
- Sign up for Fall 2024 Course
- An academic advisor will provide you with a list of
- specific courses and help you decide what classes to take. Classes begin August 21
- Sign up for Spring 2025 Course
- An academic advisor will provide you with a list of specific courses and help you decide what classes to take. Classes begin January 8, 2025
- Teach in Bama Scholarship Notification by March 1, 2025
- Sign up for the 5-week UAEC Summer on Campus: Summer I Term, 2025.
- Immerse yourself in the college experience, taking courses while living on the picturesque University of Alabama campus. Earn 6-7 college credits.
- Participate in Teach in Bama Summer Institute (runs concurrently with UAEC Summer on Campus) 2025.
- This program will consist of sessions curated to support and expose students to resources that will aid them throughout their teacher preparation program.
- Welcome to your first year at UA! Classes begin August 20, 2025
If chosen by your school system, they will give you the password to complete the application.
