BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Jeremy Reid is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Special Education at The University of Alabama. He serves as the primary academic liaison for the CrossingPoints Program, UA’s postsecondary transition program for students with intellectual disabilities. Founded in 2001, the program was one of the first of its kind and is the only fully accredited program in the southeastern United States. Dr. Reid manages the CrossingPoints Certificate in Occupational Studies program, curates individualized academic plans of study for approximately 20 students annually, and promotes collaboration among faculty, staff, and the program’s students. Additionally, Dr. Reid oversees all external relations for the program and regularly partners with local, regional, and national media to share the program’s story.
In the community, he served on the Children’s of Alabama’s Committee for the Future, the UAB St. Vincent’s Foundation Junior Board, the Administrative Board, and the Huntingdon College National Alumni Association Board of Directors. He currently serves on the Pelham City Schools Foundation Board of Directors.
Dr. Reid earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Huntingdon College in 2011. He earned a Master of Arts in Communication Studies and a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Administration, both from The University of Alabama. He has received numerous awards from UA for excellence in teaching and service.
