BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Yvette P. Bynum is a Clinical Professor, Director of the EdD Programs in Educational Leadership, and Associate Department Head in the Department of Educational Leadership, Policy, and Technology Studies at The University of Alabama. She brings more than 28 years of experience in education, including 13 years in higher education and 15 years in K–12 education in Macon and Montgomery County Public Schools in Alabama, with six of those years in administrative roles.

Dr. Bynum’s scholarly and professional work focuses on educational leadership, mentoring, leadership development, and school improvement. She conducts research, develops grant proposals, and collaborates with educational organizations and school systems to design and advance mentoring programs throughout Alabama. She is a certified Mentor Coach Trainer with the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), co-developer of Alabama’s Principal Mentor Training program, and a past president of the Southern Regional Council on Educational Administration (SRCEA).

Dr. Bynum also serves as an Investigator on Project RISE, a school enhancement partnership involving Texas A&M University, Lawrence County Schools, and Huntsville City Schools. In recognition of her commitment to student success and service, she has received multiple college-wide service awards honoring her outstanding contributions to students and the university community.
