BIOGRAPHY

Beth Thomas earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Troy University, majoring in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Physics. Following graduation, she completed a Medical Technology internship at Baptist Medical Center and was honored with the Medical Technology Award Certificate upon completion of the program.

Her career in laboratory science spans more than 45 years, culminating in a leadership role in Laboratory Management at Children’s of Alabama, where she retired in 2022. That same year, she joined the UA Education Policy Center, where she continues to serve part-time, supporting the Center’s mission and operations.

Outside of work, Beth is an avid tennis enthusiast and currently serves as President of the Tuscaloosa Tennis Association. She enjoys promoting the sport throughout Tuscaloosa and the surrounding communities, helping individuals of all ages and skill levels discover the benefits of tennis β€” including fitness, friendship, and community engagement. Tennis is her lifelong passion, and she is always excited to welcome new players to the courts.
