BIOGRAPHY
Stephen Abernathy is the Associate Senior Director of Development for the College of Education. He is married to Suzanne F. Abernathy and has two daughters, Lily and Ella Dean, along with a dachshund named Danny. He is originally from Tuscaloosa.
As a Development Officer, his primary responsibility is to collaborate with alumni and donors to secure program support funds and COE student scholarships. His is also at the forefront of building and maintaining strong alumni and donor relationships for the college.
Stephen’s professional journey has been diverse, encompassing valuable experience in manufacturing sales, pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical sales, and publishing. These experiences have equipped him with the skills and knowledge necessary for my current role at UA.
I hold a B.S. in Human Environmental Science/Consumer Affairs and an M.A. in Higher Education Administration, both from UA, which have provided me with a solid academic foundation for my professional endeavors.
Typically, my hobbies and interests revolve around whatever my girls are doing, all UA athletics sports, boating, cars, and motorcycles, and lounging at home at the lake.
