BIOGRAPHY

Lindsey Orr started with the University of Alabama in April 2024, transitioning from 20 years of medical experience to learning administrative roles. Although she enjoyed patient care, she knew it wasn’t a field she wanted to stay in long-term. Seeking change, she was drawn to the numerous opportunities the university offers. As an administrative assistant in the College of Education, Lindsey performs tasks and provides the care needed for faculty and students to the best of her ability. She takes pleasure in interacting with students and faculty on a regular basis.

Lindsey began her medical career in 2003 at DCH as a patient care assistant and unit secretary. She later advanced her career by becoming a medical assistant for Dr. Dedmon and Dr. Joseph, who practiced family medicine and OB/GYN care at Tuscaloosa Family Practice. After the passing of Dr. Dedmon and the closure of the practice in 2011, Lindsey found a new position as a medical assistant at West Alabama Family Practice and Sports Medicine, where she expanded her skills in family medicine and sports medicine. She worked there for 13 years before joining the University of Alabama.

Lindsey is married to Joel, an investigator at the federal prison in Aliceville, and they have two daughters, Amelia, who is 10, and Ella, who is 8. In her personal life, Lindsey enjoys spending time with her family, attending church, and being with friends.
