BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Yvette P. Bynum is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership, Policy, and Technology Studies at The University of Alabama. With over 25 years of experience in education, Dr. Bynum has spent 10 years in higher education and 15 years in K-12 education in Macon and Montgomery County Public Schools (AL), including 6 years in administrative roles.
In her current position, Dr. Bynum teaches graduate-level courses in educational leadership at the Master’s, Education Specialist, and Doctor of Education levels. She also researches, writes grants, and collaborates with others to develop and promote mentoring programs across Alabama. Dr. Bynum is a certified mentor coach trainer with the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), and she serves as a past president of the Southern Regional Council on Educational Administration (SRCEA). Additionally, she is a Co-Investigator on the Leadership for Character (LFC) project, a multimillion-dollar initiative funded by the Kern Family Foundation to develop virtue ethics leadership. Dr. Bynum has been recognized with multiple college-wide service awards for her outstanding work with students.
