BIOGRAPHY

Kristen N. Lamb, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the College of Education at the University of Alabama. She earned her doctorate in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in gifted education and creativity from the University of North Texas and previously served her community as a middle school science educator. Dr. Lamb is also certified in online teaching through Quality Matters. Her research focuses on equity issues in advanced academics, classroom conditions conducive to developing creative thinking and advanced academic achievement, and teacher perceptions and beliefs about creativity. Dr. Lamb is the co-author of Developing Creativity in the Classroom: Learning and Innovation for 21st-Century Schools, and she has published a number of articles and invited book chapters on the topics of creativity and gifted education. Her work in gifted education and creativity has received scholarly recognition, including the 2024 Early Career Researcher Mini-Grant from the Mensa Foundation, 2022 Early Scholar Award from the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC), 2019 Paper of the Year for Gifted Child Quarterly, 5th annual Paper of the Year for Journal for the Education of the Gifted (JEG), and the 1st Place Dissertation Award from the NAGC. She currently serves on the executive board for the Alabama Association for Gifted Children and as an associate editor for JEG.
