BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Junfei Lu is an Associate Professor and currently serves as the Program Coordinator of the Counselor Education Program at The University of Alabama. He earned his Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counselor Education with a minor in Statistics from the University of Iowa, where his dissertation focused on the perceptions of college students regarding microaggressions toward people with disabilities.
Throughout his career, Dr. Lu has made significant contributions to the fields of rehabilitation counseling and counselor education. His research explores various aspects of counseling, including Burnout, Mindfulness and Health, Social Determinants of Health, and Social Biases toward People from Minority/Marginalized Groups. He has published extensively in refereed journals, with his work appearing in respected publications such as the Journal of Counseling and Development, Rehabilitation Counseling Bulletin, and the Journal of Religion and Health.
In addition to his research, Dr. Lu is dedicated to teaching and mentoring. He has been a primary instructor for numerous courses at The University of Alabama and has served on multiple doctoral advisory and dissertation committees. His commitment to advancing the field is further evidenced by his involvement in securing research grants and his participation in national conferences.
