Kelcey Sexton

Kelcey Sexton serves as the Communications Specialist for the College of Education. In this role, she utilizes her journalistic expertise and exceptional storytelling skills to illuminate the impactful work of the College and the excellence of our faculty and staff.
 
With more than 10 years in the publishing industry, Kelcey’s background spans roles in writing, editing, research, and design as well as managing digital content for various publications, including the Tuscaloosa News and Tuscaloosa magazine. Her article on the late Ruby Battle, a revered teacher and Northport historian, won the First Place Alabama Press Associated Media Award for Best Personality Profile in 2019.

Kelcey holds a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and creative writing from The University of Alabama, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She also contributed to the Crimson White as an undergraduate.
 
In her free time, Kelcey enjoys spending time with family and friends, listening to music and podcasts, and watching horror movies. She is happily married and is a proud rescue dog mom.
