BIOGRAPHY

Brenda Mendiola is clinical professor at The University of Alabama where she serves as the Director of the University of Alabama Superintendentsā€™ Academy. Prior to her work at UA, Dr. Mendiola served as a K-12 educator first in New Mexico and then in Texas. Her background includes experience as a teacher, high school principal, curriculum director, and superintendent.

ā€‹In addition to her work with the Superintendentsā€™ Academy, Dr. Mendiola teaches MA, EdS, and EdD leadership courses, conducts research, write grants and works with others to promote leadership development across the state. She is a member of the Leadership for Character team at UA where she serves as a co-pi and assists with the implementation of a virtue-ethics based approach to leadership through a project funded by the Kern Family Foundation.
