BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Becky Atkinson is an associate professor in the College of Education at the University of Alabama.   She teaches courses in cultural and social foundations and qualitative research. Her interests in pragmatic semiotics, feminist materialism, and critical theory as well as recent medical experience, guide her current research which ranges from the politics of the teacher body, body narratives as architects of experience, to examining the connections between pragmatist articulations of the relationship of ontology and semiotics in feminist materialism. 

She has published articles in Educational Theory, Qualitative Inquiry, Educational Studies, the Journal of Educational Research, the Journal of Teacher Education, The International Journal of Qualitative Studies in Education, and the International Journal of Leadership in Education.
