Dr. Yu believes in preparing students to be critical and creative thinkers who can design instruction and leverage technology for meaningful learning. His approach emphasizes reflective teaching and the responsible use of emerging technologies to design effective teaching and learning experiences.

BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Wonjin Yu is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Instructional Technology in the College of Education at The University of Alabama. He received his Ph.D. in Learning Design and Technology from Purdue University in August 2025. He currently teaches CAT 200 (Computer Education Applications), INTE 532 (Instructional Technology Design), and INTE 533 (Online Teaching and Learning). His research interests include computing education and emerging technologies in education, with a current focus on AI education.

Formerly, he worked as an elementary school teacher in South Korea. During this time, he contributed to promoting computing education for all through national and community engagement projects, efforts that were recognized with awards from the South Korean government. He is also an active committee member of the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) and has served as a K-12 CS standards revision advisor.
