BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Elizabeth Michael is a three-time graduate and fourth generation University of Alabama Alumni. Prior to returning to the University as a professor, she worked across the state of Alabama as an intervention and self-contained special education teacher at both the elementary and secondary level. She has over a decade of experience working in K-12 institutions and schools in the state of Alabama and across the southeast. She was inducted into the College of Educationās Top Alumni Under 40 in 2023. Dr. Michaelās research is focused on embedded behavior strategies within academic content, specifically writing, when working with students with and at risk for Emotional Behavior Disorders. She currently lives in Tuscaloosa with her husband, Seth Michael (UA Class of 2012) and their two English bulldogs ā Blanche and Rose. She currently serves as a Board Member for The Arc of Tuscaloosa along with acting as Faculty Advisor for the UA Chapter of Best Buddies and the Beta Chapter of Kappa Sigma.
