BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Holly Morgan currently serves as the Director of The University of Alabama/University of West AlabamaĀ Regional Inservice Education Center. The Center provides targeted professional learning opportunities to twelve school districts and one public charter school within the West Alabama region.Ā This targeted professional learning also includes her role as facilitator of the Alabama Best Practices Center Powerful Learning Network West. Dr. Morgan holds a bachelorās degree in early childhood/elementary education (UA), a masterās degree in early childhood education (UAB), a masterās degree in instructional leadership (UAB), and a Ph.D. in early childhood education (UAB). She maintains Alabama teaching licensure as a teacher, reading specialist (K-12), and an administrator and is a former Alabama District VII Finalist for Teacher of the Year. She has previously served as a classroom teacher, an instructional coach, a regional reading specialist for the Alabama Reading Initiative, and a district curriculum director prior to her experiences in higher education. At The University of Alabama, she previously served as the Director of the university’s award-winning Parent-Teacher Leadership Academy and has published on the topics of family and community engagement. In addition, she has held appointments on both the Alabama State Department of Educationās Literacy Task Force and Teacher Evaluation Task Force. In the community, she serves as a volunteer in multiple organizations and is also a graduate of Leadership Tuscaloosa.Ā
