BIOGRAPHY

Carina Larbig is an experienced event coordinator with over nine years in the field, currently overseeing all event planning within the College of Education.

Originally from Frankfurt, Germany, Carina began her career as an assistant for marketing and membership services at the Senckenberg Nature Research Society and its museum in Frankfurt, Germany’s second-largest natural history museum. There, she gained and deepened her hands-on experience in event planning, as well as in member and donor engagement. She later served as a team lead at DHL Express, where she honed her skills in team leadership and client relations.

At Nippon Connection, the world’s largest platform for Japanese cinema with over 19,000 visitors annually, Carina was part of the festival management team and served as a Cultural Program Co-Director. In these roles, she developed her expertise in event planning, guest, artist, and sponsor engagement, team management, live event production, and budgeting. She excelled in managing large-scale events and fostering cultural exchange, overseeing every detail from pre-planning and on-site execution to post-event duties.

Carina holds a BA in German Studies and History and Philosophy of Sciences from Goethe University. When she’s not planning events, you might find her hiking, lost in a book, or getting her hands dirty in the garden—living her best hobbit life.
