BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Hee Jung Gong is an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration ā€‹in the Department of Educational Leadership, Policy, and Technology Studies (ELPTS) at the University of Alabamaā€‹. ā€‹She is a recipient of the Thomas G. Dyer Outstanding Dissertation Research Award (2020-2021) and an AERA-NSF Doctoral Dissertation Grant Award (2019-2020). Before joining the University of Alabama, she worked as a Research Faculty at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and as a lecturer at Yonsei University in South Korea. She received her Ph.D. in Higher Education (Dec. 2021) in the Louise McBee Institute of Higher Education at the University of Georgia with a graduate certificate in Interdisciplinary Qualitative Studies in the Department of Lifelong Education, Administration, and Policy at the University of Georgia. She also holds an M.A. in Education, specializing in Higher Education, from Yonsei University, and a B.A. and B.P.A. from Sookmyung Women’s University in South Korea. ā€‹Her work has been presented at national conferences in the U.S. (e.g., ASHE, AERA, AEFP) and published in peer-reviewed journals in both the U.S. and South Korea over the past 10 years.
