BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Danielle Todd serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Music Education at the University of Alabama. Her prior experience includes 12 years of public-school teaching, with her most recent appointment at Echols Middle School in Northport, Ala., and six years teaching at the collegiate level as Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Music Education at Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, Ky., where she taught classes in instrumental music education, elementary and general music and conducted various ensembles.
Dr. Todd is an active clinician, conductor, and researcher. Her research interests include professional development, teacher mobility, teacher preparation, and situational awareness in the music rehearsal setting. She is particularly interested in applying eye-tracking technology to accelerate expert-like thinking among preservice teachers. Todd is published in the Bulletin of the Council for Research in Music Education and has contributed to the Alabama Music Educators Journal and Kentucky Music Educators NOTEable News. She regularly presents at local, regional, and national conferences including events at the NAfME Music Research and Teacher Education National Conference.
Dr. Todd was named 2019 Teacher of the Year for the Kentucky Music Educators Association, District 6, and was recognized as the Northern Kentucky University Outstanding University Clinical Supervisor in 2020.
