BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Bethany Lewis is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Elementary Education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at The University of Alabama. She is a former elementary school educator, teaching grades 1st-3rd. She attended the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, for her undergraduate and master’s degrees. She later received her PhD in Teacher Education and Learning Sciences from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her research is focused on elementary multilingual learners, picture book diversity, and effective writing pedagogy for elementary students.
