BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Zagdsuren is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Alabama. She has a background in clinical medicine and holds both a Master of Science (M.S.) and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Exercise Science from Western Kentucky University and The University of Alabama, respectively.
Her research focuses on the neuro-behavioral mechanisms (e.g., automatic evaluations and approach-avoidance behavioral tendencies) that drive physical activity and sedentary behaviors. Her goal is to leverage these behavioral mechanisms to help individuals engage in and adhere to lifelong physical activity effortlessly.
Dr. Zagdsuren has been recognized for her dissertation work with the Outstanding Doctoral Student Award in 2021 and the Outstanding Research by Doctoral Student Award in 2022.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Dr. Zagdsuren enjoys spending her free time camping with her family, embracing the outdoors, and creating memorable experiences.
My teaching philosophy emphasizes interaction and practical application as key strategies for effective learning. I believe in scaffolding knowledge by breaking down complex topics into simpler components, using relatable analogies, and progressively build the understanding of the topic. This approach helps students build a strong foundation before tackling more sophisticated concepts.
