BIOGRAPHY
Kelcey Sexton joined the College of Education as its Communications Specialist in January 2023. In this role, she utilizes her journalistic expertise and storytelling skills to highlight the impactful work of the College and the excellence of our faculty and staff.
With more than 10 years in the publishing industry, Kelcey’s background spans roles in writing, editing, research, and design as well as digital content management for various publications, including the Tuscaloosa News and Tuscaloosa magazine. Her feature in Tuscaloosa magazine on the late Ruby Battle, a revered teacher and Northport historian, earned her a First Place Alabama Press Associated Media Award in 2019.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and creative writing from The University of Alabama, where she also contributed to the Crimson White as an undergraduate.
Kelcey has lived in Tuscaloosa for most of her life. When she isn’t writing or editing, you will most likely find her at home spending time with her family, catching up with friends, or indulging in movies or TV. She is happily married and a proud rescue dog mom of three.
