The mission of the M.A. in kinesiology with coursework focusing on sport administration is to provide students with the theoretical knowledge and practical experience needed for successful careers in the ever-expanding sport industry.  This program is designed to educate students to manage in a wide variety of sport arenas.  The theoretical knowledge is complemented with field experience internship in sport industry settings.  The 30-hour program is designed so that a student who has only recently completed an undergraduate degree, a student with some experience in the field, and a student who has been out of school for many years may all participate and gain important knowledge and skills necessary to become leaders in the sport industry.  The classes are taught by experienced faculty, all of whom have both doctoral degrees and wide ranging experiences in the sport industry, particularly in intercollegiate athletics and university recreation. The common program themes of mutual respect, collegiality, and empowerment are intended to facilitate students’ professional growth, while advancing the teaching, research, and service mission of The University of Alabama.
