The Future Teachers of Alabama (FTA) will return to the Capstone next week, bringing about 700 future educators to Tuscaloosa for the conclusion of its annual conference.
The FTA Western Conference will welcome students from 52 schools across Alabama to the Bryant Conference Center on Tuesday, Feb. 17, for a day packed with immersive learning experiences and opportunities for collaboration and connection.
Designed to empower and prepare the next generation of teachers, the conference will feature general and breakout sessions with topics including “Teach in Bama,” “How to College 101,” “Gathering Tools for the Educator Toolbox,” “From Calling to Classroom: Finding Your Teaching Fit” and more, as well as interactive activities, projects, contests and competitions. Students will also have time to visit and network with peers and education program representatives.
This is the perfect environment to give students valuable insight into what lies ahead as they pursue a career in education and will remind them why teaching is their passion and their future.
The FTA Western Conference begins at 8 a.m. Monday, with the opening session starting at 9, and is scheduled to end at 2 p.m. Visitor parking will be available for attendees in the Capstone Parking Deck at 921 2nd Ave.
