Position: Assistant Professor of Secondary Mathematics Education (Tenure-Track)
Qualifications:
• Earned doctorate in education related to the teaching and learning
of secondary mathematics education
• Teaching experience in 6-12 classrooms
• Ability to pursue a research agenda and external funding
• Ability to teach courses in secondary mathematics education
• Ability to teach courses in general secondary education
• Ability to teach with a multicultural perspective
• Ability to integrate technology into instruction
• Ability to integrate inclusion concepts into instruction
• Commitment to collaborative collegiality
• Ability to work closely with Arts and Sciences faculty
Responsibilities:
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in secondary mathematics
education and general secondary education
• Maintain an active research/publication record
• Direct graduate research studies in mathematics education
• Obtain external funding in support of mathematical education
research
• Conduct research in mathematics education and publish in scholarly
journals
• Supervise practicum and internship experiences
• Serve on student and faculty committees
• Advise students
• Participate in program development
• Collaborate with Professional Development Schools
• Provide service within the University, to state and local educational
agencies, and to relevant professional organizations
