Dissertation

The dissertation of the Executive Ed.D. is integrated across the curriculum. Students begin their preliminary study early in the curriculum by identifying a research topic. The director of the cohort works closely with each student in this early stage to ensure timely progress and scholarly rigor. Students begin preliminary research during the first year of the cohort and also prepare their literature reviews and develop a methodology during that year. They carry out their research studies while they are in course work. In the last phase of the process, students write up their results and defend their work. The purpose of this structured approach is to ensure successful completion of the program and the awarding of the degree to each student.
