Exercise Lab
The Department of Kinesiology’s Human Performance Lab is a well-equipped physiology laboratory particularly designed for measuring the human physiological responses to exercise and recovery under various environmental conditions. It contains metabolic analyzers, ergometers, biochemistry analyzers, and an environmental chamber with thermometry equipment.
The primary goal of the Human Performance Lab is to investigate physiological responses to exercise as related to athletic performance, industrial work, recovery and thermoregulation. Current research lines focus on thermoregulation, perceptual responses, industrial protective clothing, training, ergogenic aids, hydration and recovery. Our ultimate aim is to improve sports performance and provide safer work procedures and environments.
