Educational Specialist Degree

A minimum of 30 hours of appropriate work beyond the MA degree and the completion of a special project or research paper are required for the educational specialist degree. If the special education requirement has not been fulfilled, the student may be required to complete an additional 3-hour survey course in special education. Students may not count more than 6 hours of pass/fail courses toward the completion of the degree. A maximum of 6 hours of approved transfer credit (maximum of 9 from UAH or UAB) may be applied toward the degree.
