Collecting Donations for School Supplies and Other Needs

Books for Bama (on Facebook)
Books for Bama is a drive for school supplies for those students affected by the April 27, 2011 Tuscaloosa area tornadoes. We will gladly accept all of the following supplies:
OUR IMMEDIATE NEED IS SCHOOL SUPPLIES; however, a long-term goal is to restock all impacted students’ and families’ personal libraries. So, we will gladly accept texts for all ages (YA novels, magazines, bibles, books for adults, alphabet books, etc.)

  • –Crayons –Markers –Construction Paper
  • –Coloring Books –Safety scissors –Hand sanitizer
  • –Paper Towels –Kleenex –Backpacks
  • –Pencils or Pens –Notebooks –Anything else you can think of!
  • –Books (Children and Young Adult Novels)

Holt Community Partnership Disaster Relief Center
Management of the donations made to the Holt community; Any community member affected by the storm can get supplies

(formerly stationed at Holt High School)is open at Holt Baptist Church, 3101 Alabama Avenue Northeast Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
The center will be open M-F 10-5. Volunteers are needed. For more information, please contact Dr. Liza Wilson ewilson@bama.ua.edu, 348-4580.
